Rob Johnson is a St. Louis native with over 35 years of tattooing under his belt. If you know Rob, you know he’s never been afraid to get his hands dirty. He’s the kind of guy who sees something that needs to be done, rolls up his sleeves, and gets to work. That same work ethic helped him build Easy Street Tattoo from the ground up and turn it into the shop and family it is today.
After more than three decades behind the machine, Rob has developed a versatile style and a serious love for creating big, bold tattoos. He specializes in large-scale pieces, cover ups, black and gray, color realism, and American traditional. His clean technical detail, strong lines, and rich, vibrant color are a stand out in ever “Rob Mother-Fuckin’ Johnson” tattoo. His color work is especially known for staying bright and bold over the years.
But for Rob, tattooing has never been just about the artwork. Some of his favorite parts of the job are the people he’s met, the stories he’s heard, and the family he’s built along the way. Easy Street is a labor of love, and every client who walks through the door becomes part of the community he’s worked so hard to create.
When he’s not tattooing, you can probably find Rob cheering on the Blues, tinkering with his El Camino, or finding another project that gives him an excuse to work with his hands.
